In this role, you will be responsible for designing new products/product enhancements, performs testing, modifying existing designs, minimizing costs, maximizing value, creating innovative products, safety compliance and special project assignments. Responsibilities:
Generation and maintenance of product designs utilizing Computer Aided Design & Drafting for 2-D and 3-D geometry modeling, drawings, and schematics. Responsible for the daily prioritization and completion of assigned design tasks/projects, including inter-department communication and project tracking. Implement product design changes to reduce cost, improve product reliability, safety and manufacturability. Product design of control/junction boxes and harnesses. Control system software programming and development. System sub-component specification and selection. Perform product testing and analysis to validate product designs. Continuously expand knowledge and experience in hydraulics, power train, cooling, electronics, stress analysis, and control systems. Ensure products meet or exceed established company and industry safety standards. Control unit structure, BOM's, ECNs, SAP, and parts/assembly catalogs. Provide technical support for the Aftermarket Technical Support team. Provide technical support for the Operations team to utilize DFMA methods to enhance the product design. Provide technical support for the Procurement team to reduce cost and assist in sourcing efforts. Recommend vendor approvals, new products, performance specifications, cost reductions, quality control parameters, testing procedures, and adjusted build schedules. Interact directly with Manufacturing Techs, Production Supervisor, and other departments such as Assembly, Materials, Purchasing, and Quality Assurance (QA). Maintain relationships/contacts with customers, suppliers, competitors, and academic personnel. Electrical Engineer Job Requirements:
B.S. Electrical Engineering 3-5 years of work experience in product design. Basic knowledge of Control System hardware and software design, J1939, and NEMA requirements. Creativity, teamwork, organizational, technical, and problem solving skills. Computer proficiency with the ability to use computer aided design and drafting, drawing, and schematic software/systems. Ability to problem solve and manage several projects simultaneously while working under pressure to meet deadlines. Ability to analyze, to organize data effectively, and to create and deliver presentations. Ability to work evenings and weekends as needed. Mental capacity to make sound decisions and to communicate clearly and concisely, both orally and in writing. Superior organizational skills, strong quality orientation, and high attention to detail. Proven ability to work well both independently and in a team environment. Knowledge of and adherence to occupational hazards and standard safety practices. Strong ethical standards, reliability, professionalism, positive attitude, and ability to remain calm in stressful situations.
